While renovating at Number 62 the client required some custom projects to be undertaken. The first being an oak and glass stair case to be fitted.

We removed the existing ply panels and banister but left the original newel posts in place. These were left in place as they were integral to the stair case construction. As we were unable to replace the newel posts on this specific project, we used an oak cladding kit to tie this into the rest of the new oak staircase.

This client opted for glass panels to allow more light to filter across the landing and down the stairs. This also gives it a sleek and modern look to tie in with the rest of the renovations to the house.

The second custom project was to build an understairs storage unit and also fill an alcove in the hallway leading to the kitchen. They opted for shaker style cabinetry so this would flow with what we had already installed in the kitchen.

After discussions with the client, we decided the best way to utilise the alcove was to build a shoe and coat storage unit to keep the hallway clear.

We designed a seated unit to conceal the shoes and an additional unit at the top to provide extra storage. Client will be painting the understairs and alcove cabinets and attaching coat hooks to the back panel to finish this piece off.
